Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they transport cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads using these machines. A rider could be the best answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right alternative.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machine made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are really useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
