Power Supply
Forklifts have four different ways of being powered: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located inside the cab under the seat. The propane tank is situated on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is positioned within the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all situated inside the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are situated at the back to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
