The Carriage
The carriage is like a typical lift truck since the lifting attachment can be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a large variety of lifting attachments offered, and this positioning ability makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Some models have rotating carriages also. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays an main role, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics can be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into consideration.
Usually, telehandlers have several load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a certain lift. Depending on the boom's configuration and the model in particular, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
