Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also called a counterbalance, lifts loads as heavy as 30,000 pounds. Despite being large and sturdy, these industrial equipment still carry the possible risk of crash or accident. To be able to be safe, be sure to have operators wear the right seat belt inside the forklift and make certain that up to standard safety features are also on board. People know that seat belts could save lives in case of an accident.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts could extend across the upper body and over the lap. These kinds of belts offer an added safety degree by protecting your body. They are available in both bench-seat and buckle-seat styles. The 3-point seat belts are available in either retractable and non-retractable kinds.
Retractable seat belts are commonly used in the majority of modern vehicles on the market. While non-retractable kinds increase safety, retractable types provide much more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The kind of seat belt that only extends over the lower part of the body is a two-point lap belt. Most lap belts feature a push-button closure system and are non-retractable. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The type of seat belt that forces a forklift operator to wear a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached that enables an alarm to sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band styles.
