Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is used for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage areas. This type is suitable for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, like for example warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering really simple.
The operator of this particular type of forklift generally stands up within a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as narrow ans short as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the back, and two in the front. This design allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire equipment. The sit-down model normally has four wheels.
An electric engine is used to power many narrow aisle forklifts. Electric-powered machines do not produce exhaust fumes and are quiet, making them the preferred option for closed areas like retail spaces. Some lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. However, the diesel version is not recommended for indoor application as it could be quite noisy and produce exhaust.
