Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator an efficient and safe place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major study of operators' working conditions. The most important goal is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is gently rounded and really comfortable. This particular area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential info, so as to keep the operator working as efficiently as he or she could.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, overall noise levels and vibration levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all individually adjustable as a way to maintain an optimum working position. Moreover, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 ergonomically positioned multi-functioned and simple to operate levers which are provided for gear changing, windscreen wipers, the window washers and horn.
To ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit supplies incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, recirculation and defrosting. As an extra option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all within easy reach. Basic instrumentation includes: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, warning lamps, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. Additionally, gauges display values for engine coolant, gearbox oil pressure, operating time and fuel quantity.
One of the main options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be equipped with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the model. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any faults which happen and their current values.
